On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a?Junior Paralegal?for a?12-month?contract based in London on a hybrid working model.

Purpose of the Role:

The Junior Paralegal role involves providing comprehensive support to the CAO, the UK General Counsel/COO office, and other Legal teams or platforms as needed. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including both legal and non-legal tasks.

As a Junior Paralegal you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing materials for legal meetings and committee sessions, including creating PowerPoint presentations, taking detailed minutes, and ensuring follow-up actions are documented and completed. Additionally, organize and manage logistics for Legal territory townhall events, ensuring all aspects run smoothly.
  • Manage and maintain the legal risk reporting tool, provide training to team members as necessary, review and monitor identified risks, and compile comprehensive risk reports. Ensure all data is accurate and up to date to support effective risk management.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of legal processes and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Identify and address any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
  • Participate in planning, scoping, implementing, and monitoring transformation projects aimed at enhancing processes, improving cost efficiencies, and addressing administrative matters. Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new law firms, manage ongoing relationships, oversee the invoicing process, monitor external spending, and handle budget approvals. Identify potential issues or efficiencies and follow up with relevant stakeholders as necessary.
  • Provide support to lawyers with various paralegal and administrative tasks, addressing operational and process issues as they arise. Ensure that all needs are met promptly and efficiently.
  • Oversee the management of the UK legal SharePoint site and assist with the use of various IT tools. Ensure that all information is organized, accessible, and up to date.
  • Gather and analyse information necessary for preparing legal budgets and accruals. Monitor costs and expenditures, ensuring they align with budgetary constraints and financial objectives.
  • Conduct thorough legal research on a variety of topics as needed. Provide well-organized and detailed reports to support the legal team's activities and decision-making processes.
  • Complete day-to-day tasks independently, with access to advice and guidance from more experienced team members as needed. Ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with individuals within and outside the immediate team. Ensure that all requests are fulfilled, and that communication is clear and effective.

What we require from the candidate:

  • Preferably Law degree or similar.
  • Strong relationship management and business partnering skills internally and externally.
  • Team player.
  • A personal focus on accuracy and attention to detail, coupled with the ability to spot errors and use a common-sense approach to prioritising workload.
  • Good written and oral language skills.
  • IT literate (VBA/programming knowledge is preferred)
  • Basic Project Management skills preferred.
