Quality Officer

As a Quality Officer, you'll be at the heart of our client's commitment to excellence, ensuring every process from raw materials to finished products meets the highest standards of quality and safety. If you have experience in manufacturing quality control and are eager to grow and develop your skills in a dynamic environment, this role is perfect for you.

You'll receive comprehensive training and hands-on experience across various departments, including Finance, Customer Support, Production, Purchasing, Sales, Marketing, Operations, HR, and IT. This holistic exposure will give you a thorough understanding of their business operations. Plus, as your role evolves, you'll enjoy occasional travel across Europe, supporting supplier audits and further enhancing your expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Inspections: Conduct routine quality inspections on incoming materials, work in progress, and finished products to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues, providing timely feedback and implementing corrective actions.
  • Documentation: Maintain quality documentation and records, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and quality control procedures.
  • Customer Complaints: Oversee and resolve customer complaints, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Quality Assurance: Assist in developing and implementing quality assurance processes to optimise efficiency and minimise defects.
  • Internal Audits: Participate in internal audits and inspections to ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives by analysing data, identifying areas for improvement, and contributing to quality targets.
  • Equipment Monitoring: Monitor and calibrate testing equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
  • Health & Safety: Participate in the Health & Safety committee, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal risk assessments.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in quality control or assurance, is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001:2015 standards) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and IOSH certification are advantageous but not essential.
  • Supervisory experience is a bonus.
