Term Time Only - September Start

Level 1 to 4 and Team Leader roles available

£24,000 - £32,000 pro rata (39 weeks a year) Mon - Friday 9am - 4.30pm

Manchester Staff is currently looking for talented Mentors/Learning Support Assistants or Youth Workers to join a fast-growing client based in Manchester. You must have a valid driving licence to travel to students' locations around the greater Manchester area, although often these students will be the most local to your area. You will also have experience working with young people who have special educational needs, mental health experience as well as education training. The successful Mentor or Learning Support Assistant will join a flourishing company within the education sector where they can offer training, development and progression opportunities.

The Mentor/Youth Worker/Learning Support Assistant role:

The role is to help develop college students by providing 121 or 221 mentoring in the community setting whilst supporting them academically. You will enjoy making a positive impact by getting them out into the world and helping them gain important life skills like social interaction and communication. You will typically work with 2 students a day, from 9.30am to 12.30pm then 1.00pm to 4.00pm, you will also have an hour after 4.00pm to complete your notes for the day however this can be done later in the evening if you require the flexibility. ?

The role is community based so you will pick up your student and carry out your work wherever you see fit. You have access to 4 learning centres in Harpurhey, Broughton, Wythenshawe, Bury.

The ideal Mentor/Youth Worker/Learning Support Assistant:

Essentials:

  • English & Maths skills
  • Functional IT Skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding processes
  • Experience working with SEN students and/or Mental Health experience

Desirables:

  • Ideally 1+ years' experience working with young people in an education or sports coaching setting
  • Sports coaching background
  • Reliable & self-motivated
