Worcestershire County Council is seeking an experienced and qualified Compliance Manager (Fire Lead) to lead on fire safety compliance across our corporate and school estate. This is a key role focused on managing risk, overseeing contractors, and ensuring all properties meet current fire safety legislation and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Responsible Person for fire compliance across the estate.
- Lead on fire safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Building Safety Act 2022, and Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance in relation to fire safety.
- Provide guidance, advice, and training to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Support over 80 Worcestershire maintained schools in fire safety compliance.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in fire safety or compliance, preferably in a local authority or education setting.
- Strong working knowledge of fire safety legislation.
- Relevant fire safety qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH Fire, IFE, or equivalent).
- Strong leadership, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Comfortable using technology for compliance and asset management.
