Production Shift Supervisor

Our client currently has a vacancy for a Production Shift Supervisor at their site in Hampshire. This manufacturing site runs seven production days per week on a continental shift system.

The successful company is part of an international organisation which is going from strength to strength in its marketplace and the company has an excellent record of developing new products to meet the changing demands of customers.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the post holder will be responsible for effective management of the Production department within a high-speed multi-line 24 hour operation whilst on shift. Leading the Production team across your shift, they will be responsible for ensuring effective achievement of Production schedules, as well as targeting improvements in output, cost efficiency and Quality standards for a variety of FMCG products.

The post holder will be required to work within clearly defined processes and procedures and product specifications and standards, while ensuring full compliance with Quality, Health and Safety at Work and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times. As a key member of the Operations team, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring the shift teams are managed, fully trained and competent to perform their duties in an efficient and safe manner to achieve the Quality, Quantity, Time and Cost KPIs expected by the business. Bringing operational discipline to maximise efficiencies and reduce waste through implementation of lean manufacturing principles will be a key objective as will developing staff and driving the business forward in a professional manner, leading by example in order to deliver exceptional performance at this site.

Applications are invited from hands-on experienced Supervisors with backgrounds in FMCG or the Food Industry preferably with lean manufacturing exposure and experience of successfully implementing improvements in performance.

Must be prepared to work a shift pattern encompassing weekends on a 12-hour night shift pattern.

Shift Pattern:

21:45pm - 10:00am

Week 1: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on

Week 2: 2 days off, 2 days on and 3 days off.

Working 7 days out of 14 on a 2 weeks cycle.

- Off work for a three-day weekend every other week.
