This pivotal leadership position involves steering the strategic growth and operational efficiency of the LIS department.

Head of Learner Information Services – The Role:

In this multifaceted role, you will blend strategic leadership with hands-on management to develop and maintain robust learner information systems. This is a unique chance to significantly impact educational processes and promote data-driven decision-making throughout the college.

Head of Learner Information Services - Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the LIS department in alignment with the college's overarching objectives
  • Lead data analytics initiatives to support informed decision-making across all levels of the organisation
  • Drive the planning and execution of LIS system enhancements, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
  • Oversee exams and timetabling, ensuring efficient scheduling and administration to support student success
  • Work closely with academic and administrative staff to optimise timetabling and examination schedules
  • Hold accountability for the LIS division, including Exams, Management Information Systems, Additional Learning Support, and Learning Resources Centres across two busy campuses

Head of Learner Information Services - You:

  • Demonstrated success in a senior LIS role within the further or higher education sector
  • Comprehensive knowledge of LIS systems, best practices in data management, and reporting tools
  • In-depth experience of preparing ILR returns
  • Experienced user of a student records database, including timetabling
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, capable of motivating and directing a dynamic team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of the educational regulatory environment and compliance requirements
  • Proven experience in managing exams and timetabling processes for smooth, effective operations
