Job Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Level 4 with a strong background in Special Educational Needs (SEN) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of our students, working closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and delivery of tailored educational programs for students with SEN.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and deliver creative and engaging lesson plans.
- Support the social and emotional development of students, promoting positive behaviour and well-being.
- Assist with the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of students at all times.
Qualifications and Experience:
- HLTA Level 4 qualification or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of SEN best practices and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEN.
- Knowledge of relevant safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications or training in SEN.
- Experience with specific SEN conditions (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia).
- First Aid certification.
