The key function is managing the full purchase ledger (Accounts Payable) function from cradle to grave therefore the successful candidate must thrive in a task driven environment but must also be adept at multi-tasking and adapting to the change of pace in terms of delivering key activities on deadline.

Finance Assistant Responsibilities

  • Managing supplier list circa 300 suppliers.
  • Processing high volumes of simple and complex supplier invoices onto systems (Sage & Project Tool)
  • Dealing with invoice and PO queries which requires liaison with internal stakeholders.
  • Preparation of weekly payment runs for authorisation.
  • Updating project budgets.
  • Cashbook reconciliations.
  • Managing expenses, credit cards etc in a timely fashion.
  • Preparation of creditor reports.
  • Supporting with month end processes.
  • Filing, updating systems and supporting finance team with ad-hoc tasks as required.

Finance Assistant Skills & Attributes

  • Minimum of 2 years accounts payable (purchase ledger experience).
  • Proven ability to process high volumes of invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Experience of preparing payment runs.
  • Competent user of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience of Sage or similar financial software and integrated CRM's.
  • Confident in ability to resolve invoice issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Multi-currency experience desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of working in an SME environment desirable.
  • Must be adept at working in a dynamic, fast paced business environment.
  • You will be great at managing all elements of accounts payable (purchase ledger) but also derive satisfaction from being interested and involved in the wider business.
