The Head of Logistics will be responsible for developing and executing strategies in line with Day Groups strategic objectives. This is a hands-on role in raising standards and improving productivity by developing its people, optimising the existing operation and striving for future improvement. You will be the standard-bearer for operational excellence.
What will you need?
- Previous experience in a Head of Logistics/Transport or Operations Role, ideally within Transport or Distribution related sector.
- Experience in managing a Transport Planning or Customer Support team.
- Proven track record in leading and empowering experienced managers.
- Exposure to managing multiple offices / depots across a large region.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills.
- Motivated with the ability to instil confidence in others and manage performance.
- CPC qualification or exemplary knowledge of drivers and logistics operations.
- An existing understanding of distributing building materials, aggregates or recycled materials.
- Expert in encouraging and delivering process improvement.
- Desire to become a product expert.

Please Note, travel required: The successful candidate will be responsible for travelling to depots across the south of England. This role may suit someone living close to the M25, M3 or the M4 corridor.
