Working Pattern -

Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Vitality Bournemouth Office. Full time, 35 hours per week.

What this role is all about:

Overall accountability and responsibility for the IT Change and Service Transition teams, working closely with IT Operations, Architects, Project Managers, BAU support teams and 3rd party service providers, ensuring adherence to the IT Operational Change Management Policy and processes across all environments. Ensuring that key stakeholders are kept informed, working closely with IT Service Management and Business Stakeholders.

You will have a key role in the continuous shaping and improvement of the service transition function. This includes assessing and evaluating the current processes and designing and implementing necessary changes to ensure they align with ITIL4 best practices and are fit for purpose. A responsibility of the role focuses around the management of the transition of major changes to existing services, and/or the launch of new services, in order to avoid undesired consequences.

Key Actions

  • Defining policy and standard for Change workflows
  • Assessment of Change impacts and risks, taking decisions on behalf of the business
  • Define strategy for the change function.
  • CTO/CIO sign off engagement across Health and Life.
  • Audit coordination and finding mitigation.
  • Act as an escalation point for Change requesters, approvers and business stakeholders.
  • Third party relationship management and accountability.
  • Publishing and conflict management of a consolidated forward schedule of IT changes affecting the UK business.
  • Overseeing and continued development of the weekly Group Technical and Business Change Advisory Board meetings to include the preparation and publication of the meeting papers to all Vitality UK businesses.
  • Engaging with senior managers to resolve change conflicts.
  • Governance of failed changes and unauthorised changes. Enforcing the completion of Post Implementation Reviews and following up any remediation actions, taking responsibility for any disciplinary action that may be required.
  • Enforce induction training of the Change Process for new starters to ensure full adherence to policies and processes from all support, product and development teams.
  • Overseeing and driving service improvements within the change function.
  • Plan, manage & coordinate the successful transition of IT services.
  • Quality Control (Service Readiness / Service Acceptance).
  • Take accountability for the transition of new and/or changed services into BAU.
  • Ensure all process comply within internal security and technology standards.
  • Provide oversight and direction to cross-functional teams involved in the transition of services into production.
  • Own service transition processes and ensure these are communicated and followed throughout the IT function.

What do you need to thrive?

  • ITIL Foundation/practitioner qualifications.
  • ITIL Service Transition certification.
  • 5+ years in IT Change Management.
  • Significant IT experience in the insurance sector.
  • Working knowledge of MS Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint with Project & Visio.
