Children's Support Worker –?20 hours per week – flexible to days/hours

Reed Community Care are looking for a Children's Support Worker for a package of care in LS19.

We are looking for a committed and engaging support worker with a minimum 6?month's experience?of supporting Children or Young people.

Location: LS19

Hours:?20 hours per week, flexible to times and days

Salary: £13 - £14 per hour?

This package of care is to support a 11-year-old who has a learning disability and autism. He is a very polite and charming young man who enjoys company.

He loves playing on his tablet, being indoors and having someone next to him.

You would be making?a significant difference?in his life, enabling him to?participate?in his local and wider community.

What we are looking for:??

  • Someone with a minimum of 6 months experience working in a Support Worker capacity ideally working with Children or Young People.
  • A motivated, hardworking, and compassionate person.??
  • A desire to make a real difference.?
  • A Support Worker that can commit to this package of care.
  • Someone who has a caring disposition and willingness to interact with someone who loves to chat, get involved with crafts like art, baking, shopping, going to the park.

Your main duties would be:??

  • Support to access the community
  • Engage in activities of his choice.
  • Develop independence skills.
  • Support with physical and emotional health.?
  • Set clear boundaries and guidance.
  • Act as a mentor and support to develop appropriate behaviours.
  • Maintain a safe environment through the utilisation of support plans and person-centred risk assessments.??
  • Respect the confidential nature of the work.?
  • Value his wellbeing and safeguard from abuse, ensure that any safeguarding concerns are reported.??
