We're delighted to be assisting this corporate company as they look to appoint a Head of Travel to oversee their existing travel team on a 1 year contract- ideal for someone who loves to focus on bringing about change.

We're keen to find them someone like you - an experienced Travel Manager/Head of Travel/Business Travel Operations Manager with superb leadership skills who can drive change across a newly restructured team. Focusing on streamlining processes and procedures, seeking out new, dynamic technology and securing highly competitive rates with current/new suppliers, you'll be a key figure in shaping the future of the travel team.

The role requires your working week to be split between 3 locations - home, their London & Midlands bases. Being visible for the teams in each office will be important for you as you build and strengthen relationships with internal and external shareholders.

Being "hands on" won't phase you either, if needed you'll be there to support your team operationally as well as coaching, mentoring and guiding effectively.

As Head of Travel your role will include:

  • Ensuring the services provided by the travel suppliers that the company works with are of the standard you need, negotiating rates and maintaining open levels of communication
  • Running and interpreting reports for the business - ensuring travel policies are adhered to
  • Monitoring & making recommendations for change based on your observations and experience.
  • Ensuring that all travel is done in the most sustainable way - identifying ways in which costs can be trimmed down and carbon footprint reduced
  • Management and development of your team /s to ensure a happy, inclusive and motivated workforce.

The experience we're looking for:

  • Comprehensive experience as a Travel Manager/Business Travel Operations Manager for a corporate company or Travel Management Company.
  • Proven to be an expert in change management - experience of handling the repercussions of company restructures and are focused on creating positive environments.
  • Comfortable in a fast paced and evolving industry.
  • This business operates in the UK market and so knowledge of the UK and it's travel suppliers is essential.
  • Analytical with a naturally curious business mind!
