Catering Manager

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a unique organisation with both fascinating and historical facilities who are looking to recruit a catering manager.

The Catering Manager will manage the Tea Room and other hospitality operations with particular focus on optimising the guests experience and the financial return of Catering.

You will ideally have a craft background as you will need to be confident in getting involved with the day- to -day preparation and delivery of the food offering as well as monitoring and managing cashflow, health and safety and staff training.

The role:

The successful Catering Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of the onsite catering provision
  • Plan and coordinate catering events, including menu selection, food preparation, and service
  • Full responsibility for the catering department's finances, weekly and monthly reporting
  • Cashflow, financial budgeting and stock taking
  • Manage catering staff, providing guidance and training as needed
  • Responsible for the Health and Safety as well as Food Safety Compliance
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and service areas
  • Recruitment, development and performance management of staff within the department
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Proven Catering Manager experience
  • Strong leadership and motivating skills including the ability to build strong relationships with customers and staff
  • Strong business and commercial acumen with financial budgeting and stock-taking skills
  • Hands-on experience with creating menus from scratch
  • Stamina and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent administrative ability and computer literacy
  • Knowledge of food, food preparation and food hygiene (including HACCP)
  • Friendly and professional attitude
  • Flexible to work weekends and bank holidays
  • Diploma in Catering or Hospitality is desirable
