Jonathan Lee Recruitment is working with an established Electronics organisation supplying a range of security and safety solutions. They are looking to hire a Software QA Engineer to be based out of their HQ in Nottingham. The role offers in some blended in home working. In the role as the Software QA Engineer you will be testing, improvement and integration of several technologies including wireless embedded systems, mobile applications and web-based applications.
The role will form part of the entrepreneurial and agile team, working with the business in writing software and firmware code for embedded system components, while providing strong technical leadership for internal and external engineering partners helping push for continual improvement of global embedded software development best practices. The main duties and responsibilities are:
- Responsible for the overall software test effort, quality, and timelines for assigned projects, taking ownership of the project and clearing any roadblocks that arise day to day.
- Develop and champion a software test strategy and ethos throughout the business.
- Planning and documenting test criteria, coding scripts in accordance with the test strategy.
- Controlling and maintaining suitable testing environments and the software release process to the wider business.
- Ensure continuous improvement through established best practices.
- Manage any outsourcing requirements of software testing.
To be successful in applying for the Software QA Engineer role we are looking for the below skills and experience to be demonstrated in CV's:
- Strong academic background preferably to degree level in Software, Computing or Engineering.
- Experience of working in a New Product Introduction / Test / Quality engineering environment.
- Designing and delivering software test solutions
- Enthusiastic, committed with strong communication and listening skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in the Python programming language
- Knowledge of embedded systems and radio technologies
