THE ROLE
You will be the person providing technical support to employees and ultimately be responsible for maintaining and supporting the companies IT systems, hardware, software, and all other network infrastructures. The role would suit someone experienced in a varied IT Manager supporting a fast paced and growing business.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Supporting the Logistics Director with managing the Warehouse Management System.
- Maintaining, testing, and evaluating the software and hardware systems and solutions.
- Assisting with systems administration tasks such as creating user accounts, managing
access rights and monitoring the systems and network performances.
- Responding to technical issues and providing solutions in a timely manner.
(this may require out of hours calls)
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Resolve troubleshooting issues and work together with vendors to solve or escalate.
- Providing end-user support for software applications, email, and other IT related issues.
- Documenting and tracking all support requests and resolutions.
- Maintain and keep an up-to-date record of all IT equipment within the asset list.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks such as backups, updates, and security checks.
- Training of staff members on new systems and processes when required.
- Very occasionally you may be required to answer or solve IT issues after hours.
- Ensuring all company equipment have the correct and up-to-date privacy and antivirus protections.
- Ensure all company equipment is PAT tested and kept compliant with the regular health & safety policies and procedures.
- Setting up and maintaining company server, shared and local drives.
- Ensure software packages are up to date with the correct number of user licences and ensure redundant accounts are made inactive etc.
- Support the IT Manager with ongoing project work, participating in meetings and raising ideas and solutions.
- Assist with the continuous training and coaching of users on all systems and applications.
- Keep up to date with the latest technologies and security awareness.
