Senior BI Engineer: Are you a BI professional looking to make a real impact? Ageas is seeking a Senior BI Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role bridges the Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Engineering teams, ensuring our data is efficiently processed and becomes a single source of truth across the organisation.

As a Senior BI Engineer, you will transform data into meaningful insights, driving strategic business decisions. Your proficiency in SQL will model and shape data into a final reporting layer, and your expertise in Power BI Semantic data modelling and analysis will create interactive dashboards and reports.

Your skills in both data warehousing (Snowflake) and BI tools (Power BI) will ensure consistency, efficiency, and scalability of our data-driven insights. This role will optimise data workflows, reduce metric duplication, and increase processing efficiency.

Responsibilities as Senior BI Engineer include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the Data Engineering and BI teams to design and implement a unified data strategy that moves key business logic into the data warehouse (Snowflake).

  • Leverage Snowflake to manage data transformations, ensuring logic and calculations happen at the warehouse level rather than within BI tools.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical needs, translating them into technical solutions integrated into the data warehouse.

  • Work closely with Data Engineers to optimize the data pipeline and improve overall performance and reliability.

  • Collaborate with BI developers to ensure seamless delivery of business metrics and reports.

Some of the skills and experience you need as Senior BI Engineer include but are not limited to:

  • Expertise in DAX and SQL language.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience optimizing complex queries for performance.
  • Deep understanding of data modelling techniques, data warehousing concepts, and best practices.
