Reed Education are currently exclusively supporting a lovely nursery in the Market Rasen area with their recruitment for a Level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioner. To cover a maternity, they require someone to begin in September 2024 however there will be an opportunity to begin in the summer holidays covering holiday club. The role has some flexibility to days and hours worked. The hours will be between 35 - 40 depending on the candidate and can be split over 4 or 5 days.

The nursery will consider hiring a permanent member of staff or will ask them to begin on a temporary basis first. The role is initially for a year but as the nursery look to expand their numbers, there may be opportunities for permanent employment to continue.

The nursery is small with less than 30 children on roll, meaning the team is small but very close-knit. The staff work extremely closely together to plan, educate and inspire the children and so you would be joining a supportive, friendly and passionate team.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children to learn and develop.
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Observe, assess, and record each child's progress, sharing outcomes with parents and colleagues.
  • Maintain a clean and organised setting that meets health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other team members to create a cohesive and supportive environment.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in training and development opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working in a nursery setting.
  • An enhanced DBS check with child barred list (this can be applied for through Reed).
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
