Learning & Development Partner

The Learning & Development Partner will play a leading role being the a primary point of contact for managers and staff on all learning & development needs. This role will suit someone who enjoys deigning and delivering creative solutions, working with external specialist trainers but also delivering in-house workshops and development activities. We have recently implemented a new LMS (Learning Management System) which the L&D Partner will manage, with this they will design courses and learning pathways to meet needs in order to engage learners and embed the system.

As a member of the HR team, you will work closely with the Head of People and Culture and HR Team to drive culture change and to develop a skilled and engaged workforce. You will need to be passionate about helping people learn and grow with the ability to be creative and flexible to meet a variety of needs in different working environments.   • **Duties and responsibilities

Design

  • Work with Managers and Team leaders to identify developments needs for the organisation, teams and individuals using available information and data.

  • Produce a skills matrix that identifies each job role with the correct skill level or skills that need to be taught across all job roles.

  • Identifying and use the best training methodologies, techniques and learning tools, including e-learning, work-based learning, workshops and/ or blended learning solutions.

  • Use identified development needs to design and implement an annual Learning & Development plan.

  • Effectively communicate and promote courses and learning opportunities to staff across multiple sites and disciplines.

  • Communicate course requirements with trainers, facilities, learners and external suppliers with agreed timelines.

  • Prepare learning and development materials/ resources required to support learning activity.

Delivery

  • Work pro-actively to promote learning and be a reliable point of contact for all learning and development matters

  • Design and deliver learning events face to face and using MS Teams to meet development needs and learning styles, including Corporate Induction, performance management workshops, coaching skills, difficult conversations etc.

  • Work creatively to identify opportunities to meet learning needs using internal expertise, including the co-design and delivery of learning events/ activities.

  • Provide learning and development insight, expertise and coaching to senior leaders and managers, acting as a trusted advisor.

  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts in order to ensure quality and value for money is achieved.

  • Plan and track spending of the Learning & Development budget to ensure money spent supports business needs.

  • Review and evaluate all existing external training to ensure best value for money, meets the training requirements for the organisation/individual/legislative and where possible seek to deliver in-house or on-line where possible

  • Review learning and development related policies and processes to ensure an effective service that meet business needs and legislative requirements.

Learning Management System

  • Manage the relationship between the LMS company and YLCAN in order to make best use of the system.

  • Manage the on-going development of the Learning Management System including the identification of courses/ materials to support specific job roles and career pathways.

  • Design and deliver communications and events to increase and develop use of the LMS.

  • Develop the reporting function of the LMS to maximise usage and identify benefits/areas of improvement.

Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

  • Work with the HR Administrator to ensure course attendance is accurately recorded on the HR system

  • Monitor and report on staff completion of e-learning courses or attendance learning events to meet legal requirements.

  • Monitor and collate L&D evaluation forms, using this information to improve the quality of future learning activities and identify further development needs.

  • Evaluate learning activities to identify transfer of learning into the workplace and longer term benefits to the organisation.

  • Produce reports on learning and development activity using agreed HR performance indicators

Culture Change

  • Work with the Head of People and Culture on the design and implementation of projects and initiatives that support culture change.

  • Support the organisation in retaining Investors in People accreditation and using the framework to support continuous improvement in how we lead, manage and develop our people.

  • Design and facilitate team building events to promote team engagement and effective ways of working in line with organisational values and behaviours.

  • Support the delivery of well-being activities.
