SJC Partners are working with a highly reputable, Legal 500 Law Firm who are looking for a Legal Secretary to join their Family Department, based in Huddersfield.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Care and Public.

The Role:

  • Typing documents including court documents and applications, emails and file notes, etc for the fee earner's
  • Preparing legal aid applications on CCMS
  • Opening files on the case management system
  • Answering calls and assisting clients with enquiries
  • Liaising with clients/professionals to arrange appointments/meetings, etc.
  • Digital dictation (BigHand)
  • Ensuring files are fully time recorded for billing
  • Preparing Court bundles.
  • Ensuring the experts' register is updated
  • Assisting fee earners with billing and closing files, as well as invoices

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience of working within a Care and Public department at a firm of solicitors, or other similar experience.
  • Good telephone manner
  • Good typing skills and use of digital dictation
  • Highly motivated
  • Highly organised
  • Able to prioritise workloads of different fee earners.
