Legal Secretary - Family Law
SJC Partners are working with a highly reputable, Legal 500 Law Firm who are looking for a Legal Secretary to join their Family Department, based in Huddersfield.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Care and Public.
The Role:
- Typing documents including court documents and applications, emails and file notes, etc for the fee earner's
- Preparing legal aid applications on CCMS
- Opening files on the case management system
- Answering calls and assisting clients with enquiries
- Liaising with clients/professionals to arrange appointments/meetings, etc.
- Digital dictation (BigHand)
- Ensuring files are fully time recorded for billing
- Preparing Court bundles.
- Ensuring the experts' register is updated
- Assisting fee earners with billing and closing files, as well as invoices
Key Skills:
- Previous experience of working within a Care and Public department at a firm of solicitors, or other similar experience.
- Good telephone manner
- Good typing skills and use of digital dictation
- Highly motivated
- Highly organised
- Able to prioritise workloads of different fee earners.
