A market leading SME sized manufacturing organisation based in the Shropshire region. Well respected and successful in their field, they are now looking to recruit for a Purchasing Manager to lead the buying team and help support the growth of the business.
Your new role
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of the procurement strategy across the organisation. The role will lead and develop a small team and take ownership for the successful delivery of supplier sourcing, procurement planning, RFT management, supplier relationship management and contract management. The post holder will also take personable responsibility for managing key supplier relationships and resolving business critical supply chain issues. Other key focus areas for the Purchasing Manager will be the analysis and reporting of spend management information, driving continuous improvement, ensuring risk mitigation is maximised and driving innovation in supplier management practices.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will be a Purchasing Manager with strong experience of managing purchasing teams within SME-sized organisations. Previous experience of leading the procurement of specialist direct materials within a manufacturing or engineering organisation will be vital to success. You will be able to demonstrate expertise in strategic sourcing and negotiation, supplier management, supply chain management and risk management. You will be a strong people leader and be committed to development, engagement, and creating a high-performing and customer-centric culture. You will be skilled at building relationships and have a solutions-focused approach.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a salary of £60,000 to £65,000 plus bonus, and excellent pension and benefits.
