Development Manager
A leading House builder have a requirement for Development Manager to join their Land and Development team based in West Yorkshire.
About the Development Manager role
Working closely with the Land Director you will be responsible for the pre-construction land and planning process on projects where they are preferred bidders overseeing all legal, design and planning issues along with coordinating with the estimating, mobilisation and construction teams.
Development Manager duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to:
- Negotiate and agree heads of terms and work with our external panel solicitors to negotiate the relevant land contracts;
- Appoint, brief and manage external architects and engineers to prepare feasibility layouts which are efficient and deliverable;
- Work with the estimators to develop and maintain viability appraisal
- Scope out and commission the relevant surveys and reports to inform due diligence processes and feed in to the proposed planning applications;
- Feed in to/prepare approval papers, liaising with relevant departments within the BU and across the Group.
Skills and Experience required for the Development Manager role:
- Experience in a development role within the Construction, Property or Housing Industry
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead the development process.
- Experience of all stages of development including legal, design, planning related activities
- Highly numerate and literate with the ability to undertake feasibility appraisals and interpret complex legal documentation
- Strong time management skills with an ability to prioritise
- Ability to work under own initiative, have good decision-making skills and a keen sense of responsibility
