Electronics Test Engineer

Due to continued expansion, my Essex based client, designers and manufacturers of signal switching and simulation for use in electronic test and verification, are looking to increase their engineering test / customer support capacity. They are looking to add a new Electronics Test Engineer to the team.

As the Electronics Test Engineer in Essex, you will be reporting to the Engineering Test Manager and you will be responsible for carrying out the duties of the Engineering Test department, including ensuring all new products meet the required specifications before they are commercially released. This will involve running a series of tests and measurements on all new modules to be added to the product range.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Perform technical tests and investigations on a range of new and legacy products, using equipment such as: Virtual Network Analysers, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies (including HV), and more.
  • Write C++ code in Visual Studio to automate tests and create graphical user interfaces.
  • Produce detailed test reports of new products and organise results for future viewing.
  • Communicate with various departments to resolve any issues discovered during test.
  • Solder cables/connectors used for testing, replacing and fault finding of faulty and/or missing components.

Requirements for the Electronics Test Engineer:

  • Minimum BTEC level 3 / A Levels in an engineering discipline, with a high electronic content or experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to fault find down to component level.
  • Ability to create software test applications (C++).
  • Be able to work in a pressurized environment.
