About the role
Working Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm the Assistant Operations Compliance engaging with the staff and promote all health, safety, environmental issues, whilst checking on their wellbeing.
You will be responsible for:
- To be fully conversant with DFDS systems, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders on solutions that will create a better working environment.
- Work on engagement with the staff so that all support elements to the business are being promoted and solutions worked upon with the involvement of the whole team.
About you
We are seeking a highly organised and collaborative individual to join our team, ensuring smooth operations within our terminal. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Operational Delivery team to monitor and ensure cargo handling adheres to operating procedures. This role involves engaging with the team to enforce health and safety policies, liaising with the Health & Safety Department on incidents, and coordinating with the financial team to assess financial viability. You will also interact with the claims department to identify and report frequent or costly damages and develop briefings on trends related to Health & Safety, Claims, Operational, and Financial aspects. Additionally, you will review investigations conducted by the Operational Delivery team to ensure they meet required standards before submission. Close collaboration with the planning team is essential to promote standardisation, digitalisation, and operational excellence. Candidates must be methodical, structured, and able to communicate effectively at all organisational levels. The ability to quickly adapt and respond to changes, set clear goals, and maintain a positive outlook is crucial. Building strong relationships and working collaboratively with colleagues to develop solutions is also a key requirement for this role.
