IT Support Apprentice

Qcom are an expert IT solutions provider with a number of sites across the UK, providing a range of specialist and expert IT lead services for their clients nationwide. Their in-house team take pride in being certified in all areas of IT, and their next step in expanding the team is bringing in an IT support apprentice.

Job responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure a secure and stable network environment
  • Install and maintain network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Investigate, analyse, and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • Document problem resolution steps and maintain a knowledge base for future reference
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, both remotely and in person

Desired skills:

  • The ability to work in a team in a professional environment
  • A passion for learning and continuous development
  • Previous exposure trouble shooting and a fundamental understanding of IT principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Entry Requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
