: 40 hours per week (working to a 2 week rota pattern which typically includes working every other weekend)

We are currently seeking a shift Manager to join a service based in bristol who make a difference to the lives of 7-8 vulnerable adults by providing a homely supported living and learning environment for young adults aged 19+ with severe and complex learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.

The Role:

The role is about supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, as well as deputising in their absence, in leading a team to maintain a stable, happy and caring environment that puts the health, safety, development and welfare of the young adults first. You will provide appropriate physical and emotional support to the young adults in residence through the work of a care team within a residential environment

Key duties:

  • Your role will be to lead a shift of c.10 support workers in the provision of care for the young adults who reside in a manner that promotes their overall wellbeing, health and development.?
  • You will work with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to provide a supportive, friendly and fun environment for young adults to live, learn and thrive in.?
  • Whilst the role does require a high level of responsibility, you'll get to work in a close-knit team that provides amazing care.?
  • Although ?rst and foremost the role entails supporting the young adults to have a great life and learn new skills, we also want to take on shift managers who can help the staff enjoy their work and feel supported and directed.??

Successful candidate qualities:

  • QCF Level 2 in Adult Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of management practice including principles of effective supervision and appraisal.
  • Good knowledge of learning disabilities and/or special needs including recent developments.
  • Good knowledge of recognised positive approach to working with challenging behaviours associated with learning difficulties.
  • Knowledge of what equal opportunities and discrimination are and how it can be prevented.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and legislation.

Experience:

  • Experience of working at Senior Support worker level in a residential care environment is a must along with experience of managing or supporting a team working a rota pattern.
  • Proven experience of working effectively with young people/adults with learning disabilities and/or special needs.
  • Experience of planning and organising activities appropriate to meet young adult's needs and abilities, demonstrating positive outcomes.
  • Experience of person centred planning.
