The role of Business development manager will be targeted with calling on both existing and potential new customers across the Midlands territory to increase sales of services and 'up-sell' add ons. You will be measured against company targets on sales and gross profit for your territory and expected to achieve Key Performance Indicators.

Requirements

  • The successful candidate will be an experienced sales professional from a business development background.
  • Candidates must have a proven track record of winning new business.
  • Must be able to demonstrate skills in both account management and new business
  • Strong relationships builders able to build effective relationships both internally and externally.
  • Good organisation skills required to manage the working day/week to maximise selling time in front of customers
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, reliable, honest and a team player promoting the Company at all times. These are the key attributes required in order to demonstrate commitment to the role.
  • A sense of humour.
  • Will be required to liaise with employees across the regional group; therefore must be confident and an excellent team player

Job Responsibilities

  • Represent the Company and to deliver the service our customers require
  • Respond to incoming sales leads
  • Call on existing accounts and sell new products
  • Call on new business and open new accounts developing our product range
  • Support the Accounts Department to maintain the Company's credit terms
  • Support any sales campaigns within the Company's general area when requested
  • Keep records of your daily work (Daily Call Reports)
  • Report on competitor activity on a weekly basis
  • Find and action any lost business or 'gaps' in your customer base. Sales reports for your area will be accessible to help you analyse the performance of your customers.
  • Produce a monthly report for the Board Meeting (reporting on activity in your area)
