Reed Education is seeking a passionate and dynamic Science Teacher to join our vibrant primary prep teaching team within a prep school in Cobham from September 2024. This role offers a unique opportunity to specialise in science education within a primary setting, fostering a sense of wonder and discovery in young learners.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Craft and deliver stimulating science lessons that captivate and inspire young learners.
- Develop lesson plans with clear objectives that align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and National Science Curriculum.
- Assess and track pupil progress in scientific knowledge and inquiry skills.
- Employ diverse pedagogical techniques to accommodate various learning styles, focusing on hands-on experiments and interactive learning.
- Uphold a nurturing and secure environment that encourages scientific questioning and exploration.
- Maintain open communication with colleagues, students, and parents about pupils' progress and scientific discoveries.
- Actively participate in the school's science community and support extracurricular science clubs or events.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A teaching qualification with a specialisation or strong background in science.
- A degree in Science Education or a related scientific discipline.
- Profound understanding of the EYFS & National Science Curriculum.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts in an accessible manner.
- Resilience under pressure and the capability to meet educational milestones.
- A commitment to continuous professional development in science education.
- Experience with Pre-test and Common Entrance 13+ exams in science subjects is advantageous.
