Accounts Assistant

My client is seeking a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join their finance team in Gateshead. This position presents an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, and General Ledger functions, with training provided if necessary.

Position Details:

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week (flexible 4-day workweek option available)
  • Salary: Starting from £27,000
  • Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records
  • Chase outstanding debts and follow up with clients
  • Issue credit notes for refunds promptly
  • Process refunds through bank and SAGE systems
  • Reconcile supplier statements with SAGE
  • Address and resolve supplier queries
  • Prepare and execute supplier payment runs
  • Conduct bank reconciliations
  • Complete VAT returns

Additional Information:

  • Experience with SAGE 50 is preferred but not mandatory.
