Field Service Engineer / Mobile technician

Shorterm Group are looking for a Field Service Engineer / Mobile technician to join a client on a permanent basis. The client is one of the largest PCV/PSV manufacturers and has a strong heritage, over 125 years in the market worldwide.

Details about the role:

  • Responsible for ensuring maximum vehicle availability for customers throughout the Midlands.
  • Working on our customers sites, providing a quick and diligent service, to diagnose problems and complete repairs, while being health and safety conscious.
  • The role will include schedule and reactive repairs and maintenance.
  • Completing all associated paperwork, upon completion of repairs/maintenance on vehicles.
  • Company van provided, fully equipped with tools and parts, as required.
  • 37 hour work week, typically between 05:00-20:00. Your line manager will communicate hours on a regular basis.
  • You'll get to work on and learn about various vehicle drivelines, including battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell, diesel and diesel hybrid.

Requirements:

  • Experience in the maintenance and repair of buses or heavy goods vehicles, including body, electrical, and mechanical.
  • Working on modern vehicles, preferably with electrical diagnostic skills using Multiplex systems.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing of engines and transmissions, as well as compressed air systems.
  • Time served PCV/LGV/HGV Technician with a recognised qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Good timekeeping, reliable and with a customer facing mindset. A focus quality and accuracy, always expecting a high standard of work.
  • Self-organised with good planning skills, and a professional manner at all times are essential.
  • Flexible to do overtime (paid for) as required.
  • Computer literate and able to use Microsoft packages.
  • A Full UK Driving License
