Our client, a leading educational organisation based in Lewisham, London, is seeking a highly organised and self-motivated individual to join their team as a Business Support Officer. As a critical role within the organisation, the successful candidate will play a key part in supporting strategic goals for school improvement and people development.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact ,providing support and responding to inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the operational and administration functions of the institute, ensuring high standards of delivery for all activities and events.
  • Coordinate and schedule all aspects of the busy events calendar, including venue arrangements, catering, and IT support.
  • Create and distribute marketing materials, including social media campaigns and maintaining website pages.
  • Lead the planning and project management of key deliverables, such as the Trust conference, ensuring clear responsibilities and deadlines are met.
  • Utilise various online platforms and software to deliver online training and streamline operations and administration.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing support of trainee and early career teachers as part of the Initial Teacher Training and Early Career Programmes.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Local Delivery Partner to effectively deliver National Professional Qualifications, providing necessary operational and communications support.
  • Handle financial processes, including raising purchase orders, monitoring budgets, and tracking payments.
  • Maintain participation records and analyse data to report on engagement and impact, supporting ongoing improvements.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and returns for external delivery partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and strategic partnerships.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Line management of the Business Administration Apprentice for experienced candidates.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities based on areas of expertise, interest, or career development aspirations, such as projects related to communications, digital strategy, staff learning and development, or talent attraction and retention.
  • Support other teams and business functions as needed to achieve the organisation's key strategies and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies within the organisation.
  • Promote the organisation's aims and ethos, including equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Take appropriate responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, reporting any concerns in accordance with safeguarding policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, providing administrative and project management support.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 and a willingness to learn additional software programmes, websites, and social media tools.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including occasional early evenings, as required by events and business needs.
  • Experience in the education sector and a passion for learning and development is desirable.
