The Company
Would you like to be responsible for the development, installation and commissioning of state-of-the-art Control Systems into ASRS (Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems)? This next generation food business is leading the way in the development of food processing technology and supplying to the leading retailers across the UK and Europe.
The Role
You will play a key role in delivering highly automated solutions, from both a software and hardware perspective. You will write and develop all PLC program logic, and also assist in the creation of best-in-class software roadmap.
You will create and lead simulation modelling to validate code work before rollout, using all digitalisation tools available, and work closely with the Controls Engineering Manager to assist with the development of a software roadmap, as well as costing for control panels, site wiring and PLC development and commissioning.
You will monitor project timings across software and hardware, also ensure designs work, are cost effective and simply manufactured. The Controls Engineer will attend project review meetings internally and at client site.
The Person
You will be an experienced controls engineer, with a degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or related discipline and hold a minimum of 5 years' experience as a controls engineer within a complex M&E design facility such as food processing, automation, data centres, automated warehousing, or logistics automation.
Experience with Siemens S7 - 1500 PLC exposure is crucial for this role, as well as a comprehensive understanding of industrial design, utilising AutoCAD, Revit or similar.
You will have excellent project management skills, able to write and amend PLC code (Siemens TIA Portal), and have exposure to working in an automated warehouse or FMCG logistics with conveyor systems would be advantageous.
