It is vital you hold at least a grade 5 / C at GCSE English and Maths and are able to follow instruction, particularly as an integral part of your role will be to follow set lesson plans.

Whether you're looking for day-to-day supply or a long-term or permanent position it's important you fully understand and appreciate the work that it requires to teach a secondary school class, up to GCSE and perhaps even A-level and that your teaching and behaviour management skills compliment those of the classroom teacher.
If you are looking to start a career in education but haven't gained the experience, we can offer you the training to help support you in your new role. This might include completing a classroom management, Safeguarding or Level 2 Teaching Assistant course depending on the avenue you would like to explore.
