Our customer is a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced sensors, serving a wide array of sectors. To support continued growth, they are looking for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to drive the development of next-generation instrumentation.
About The Role:
As their Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead the design and development of cutting-edge instrumentation. You will:
- Serve as the design authority for all electronics, software, and mechanical design activities.
- Drive projects from concept through to medium-volume manufacturing.
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring projects meet time and budgetary constraints.
- Oversee product design, testing, and on-site commissioning.
- Engage in customer liaison and business development activities.
About You:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with extensive experience in high-tech design environments.
- Strong grasp of mechanical principles and ability to translate theory into practical, field-ready products.
- Expertise in producing detailed engineering drawings and managing design documentation.
- Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to guide and develop a technical team.
- Collaborative and communicative, comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions
