Reed Public Sector Specialist team is currently supporting a nationally recognised and one of the Uk's favourite charities to recruit a permanent Financial Controller.

Overall Role Purpose
The Financial Controller will manage a team of 3 and indirect team of 14 whilst maintaining strong financial governance both in relation to day-to-day running of the Charity and strategic planning, ensuring effective use of the donor pound and long-term sustainability of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the tax, financial reporting and accounting strategies to maximise charity's ability to deliver services on a long term sustainable basis.
- Identify and develop strategies, alongside different levels of the organisation, to improve the overall tax efficiency of the charity.
- Establishing and be responsible for the financial governance framework through which the organisation develops efficient and effective controls to run its day to day operations
- Embed a risk-based controls approach, improving the engagement with and compliance of Financial Policies and Procedures throughout the charity.
Education/Qualifications
Essential
ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified finance professional, to be able to confidently deal with complex financial and technical disclosure standards.
Job-Related Experience
Essential
- Change management skillset.
- Coaching and developing staff.
- Preparation of statutory, consolidated accounts. Working with external bodies such as HMRC, External and Internal Auditors.
