Our client, a leading Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) business based in Milton Keynes, renowned for our innovative products and commitment to excellence. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a diligent and experienced Credit Controller to join their experienced finance team. This role is crucial in managing our credit control processes, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining positive relationships with our customers.

Description

Credit Controller Duties:

  • Credit Management: Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers, setting and reviewing credit limits based on financial analysis and business needs.
  • Debt Collection: Proactively manage and collect outstanding debts to reduce debtor days. Follow up on overdue invoices through phone calls, emails, and letters.
  • Customer Relations: Maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing queries and resolving disputes promptly and professionally.
  • Payment Processing: Oversee the allocation of payments received, ensuring they are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on outstanding debts, collections performance, and credit risk. Present findings to senior management and suggest improvements.
  • Reconciliation: Perform account reconciliations to ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date. Investigate and resolve discrepancies

Profile

  • Experience: Proven experience as a credit controller, A solid understanding of credit control processes and financial regulations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Customer Focus: A customer-oriented mindset with the ability to maintain positive relationships while ensuring payment compliance.
