CNC Setter Operator
- Sets up CNC machines with specific reference to approved drawings by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches
- Reviews 3D CAD design drawings, specifications etc determining dimensions and tolerances making necessary calculations for setting.
- Sets up mills and installs vices and jigs setting datums as necessary.
- Sets up tools in the mills and ensures tool settings are updated appropriately.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part and sample workpieces; prepares test runs to ensure production outputs strictly adhere to specifications.
- Maintains specifications by regular observation of drilling and milling operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions and troubleshooting processes; adjusts controls; replaces worn tools and adheres to quality and assurance procedures and processes.
- Undertakes standard CNC operator responsibilities as and when required together with de-burring, tapping, shuffling, washing and cleaning finished parts, as necessary.
- To be responsible and fully accountable for ensuring all completed parts conform with all specifications and quality deliverables as appropriate.
- Ensures that every machine process is undertaken in compliance with the company guidelines.
- Meets all advised schedules and timelines and ensures the production manager is informed of any risks to planned due dates
- Maintains continuity among work shift by communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; follows manufacturer's instructions; troubleshoots machines, ensuring a clean and tidy workplace.
- Ensures all company records/paperwork are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensures the internal production system (KIPS) is updated as appropriate
- To consistently promote high standards through personal example; actively commit to a collaborative approach with colleagues; to provide ongoing feedback to management.
- To ensure all operations strictly adhere to safety procedures and regulations in accordance with the company's Health and Safety procedures.
- Liaises with CNC Operators as required providing guidance/assistance as required.
- Demonstrates a strong team approach ensuring open and constructive communication with colleagues at all levels
- Working hours are Mon-Thurs 10:30-21:00 (40h/week)
- There is a 30 min unpaid break, and two 15 min paid breaks to be taken at even intervals.
- Holiday allowance is statutory 28 days, with mandatory holiday to be taken over Christmas period (3 days), we don't work bank holidays.
- Pension contributions are statuary to UK law.

- Overtime available paid at the standard salaried hourly rate.
