Head of Communications

Posted by St. Austell Brewery Co Ltd.

Are you a strategic communicator with a passion for
storytelling and a knack for engaging audiences? Are you able to commit to a
fixed term contract and lead our communications efforts and make a meaningful
impact? If so, this opportunity is for you!

We are seeking a talented Head of Communications to
join us on a fixed-term maternity cover contract basis and drive our communication strategies
to new heights.

As head of communications, you will be responsible
for developing and delivering St Austell Brewery's corporate communications
strategy. From raising the profile of the company and enhancing our reputation
through targeted media relations to driving engagement with our people through internal
communications initiatives, you will be a passionate leader, inspiring a team
to deliver on a compelling multi-channel plan. Aligned to the company's
business plan and growth ambitions, you will develop and maintain close,
collaborative relationships across a wide range of stakeholders, to ensure St
Austell Brewery's brand voice is consistent, heard, understood and respected.

About you

  • Experience of developing and implementing a

comprehensive communications strategy aligned with St Austell Brewery's goals
and objectives.

  • Ability to lead and inspire a team of communication

professionals to deliver impactful campaigns and initiatives.

  • Experience of maintaining strong relationships with

the media, trade organisations (eg. BBPA, BII, CAMRA), influencers, charities,
and leaders / politicians in local communities.

  • Demonstrable

experience of driving targeted PR activity to support our overarching marketing
strategy - driving footfall into our pubs, boosting beer sales and profiling
leaders / future leaders across the business (B2B and B2C).

  • Able to maintain

a consistent brand voice across St Austell Brewery's social media channels to
enhance reputation, boost sales, drive recruitment (e.g. LinkedIn) and elevate
what we do best (e.g. championing cask). Able to raise the profile of our Charitable
Trust / sustainability & regeneration activity.

  • Proven

experience in a senior communications role, preferably experience working in an
agency, or an in-house PR, marketing, or communications role.

  • Commercial

acumen and awareness of wider business issues, macro trends and opportunities
when making decisions.

  • Provide

informed, professional and strategic counsel on issues that affect reputation,
challenges and opportunities.

  • A team

player with well-developed people skills – listens to others, actively
contributes, and shows commitment to building relationships within the team,
pubs, and wider business.

  • Strong stakeholder

management and networking skills. Substantial experience of working in a PR /
communications team.

  • Vast

experience with crisis management; able to demonstrate both proactive planning
(e.g. monitoring of risk registers and media training) and reactive handling
(e.g. preparation of statements against enquiries, internal media briefings).

  • Able to

lead, mentor and inspire a team of communications professionals providing
guidance, support and resource allocation oversight to ensure the successful
delivery of communications initiatives.

What we offer in return:

  • 25 days

annual leave (plus 8 bank holidays).

  • 30%

discount on food & drink and 50% discount on accommodation.

  • Fantastic training

& career development opportunities.

  • Discounted

membership with local businesses.

  • Cycle to

work scheme.

  • Company

bonus scheme.

  • Health cash

plan.
