We are a leading specialist rail company renowned for our commitment to quality, safety, and innovation. Due to a recent restructure, we are now seeking a highly motivated and experienced Plant Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for driving plant efficiency, enhancing maintenance schedules, and creating a proactive, rather than reactive, operational environment.

The Role

As Plant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our organisation. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and optimise our plant operations, ensuring maximum efficiency and effectiveness. You will be tasked with maturing our existing maintenance schedules, implementing robust processes and procedures, and driving continuous improvement across the plant. This role is ideal for someone with the ambition to make a real impact and leave their mark on the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive plant efficiency and productivity by developing and optimising maintenance schedules.
  • Implement and maintain robust processes and procedures to create a proactive operational environment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations).
  • Manage the Network Rail Possession Planning System to ensure seamless and efficient operations.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth running of plant operations and to achieve overall business goals.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in a Plant Manager role, ideally within the rail industry or a related sector.
  • Strong knowledge of LOLER and experience with the Network Rail Possession Planning System.
  • A proactive and ambitious mindset, with a passion for driving improvements and implementing change.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Relevant qualifications in engineering, plant management, or a related field would be advantageous.
