Position: Part-Time Teaching Assistant (Mixed Key Stage 1)
Location: North Chesterfield
Contract: Part-time, Fixed Term
Duration: September 2024 - July 2025 (potential for permanent position from September 2025)
Hours: Mornings supporting the curriculum, Afternoons supporting phonics interventions

Our school is a vibrant and welcoming primary school located in north Chesterfield, conveniently situated with excellent public transport links. We are dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching educational environment where every child can excel.

We are seeking a passionate and committed Teaching Assistant to join our mixed Key Stage 1 class. This part-time role is set to commence in September 2024 and will continue for the academic year until July 2025, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position from September 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Key Stage 1 class in the mornings across all aspects of the curriculum.
  • Assist with phonics interventions in the afternoons, using the Read Write Inc phonics program.
  • Work with small groups to enhance their phonics skills and overall learning experience.
  • Collaborate with teachers to provide a nurturing and effective learning environment.
  • Contribute to the overall well-being and development of the students.

Requirements:

  • A TA qualification at level 2 or above is essential.
  • Confidence in supporting phonics with small groups.
  • Experience with the Read Write Inc phonics program is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to supporting the educational and personal development of young children.
