GI Group are now seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to our public sector client based in Rotherham/Worksop. The Teaching Assistant will support the planning and delivery of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment for young people both in and out of the classroom. They will share a strong belief in young people's ability to achieve their work and personal goals as well as set challenging and demanding expectations, promoting self-esteem and independence.
Main Duties of the Teaching Assistant:
- To supervise and provide support for learners, including those with special educational needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
- To assist with the development and implementation of Individual Learning Plans/targets and EHC plans.
- To establish constructive and professional relationships with young people and interact with them according to their individual needs.
- To promote the inclusion and acceptance of all learners.
- To encourage young people to interact with others and engage in teaching activities led by the teacher/tutor.
- To assist learners to engage in teaching activities and shared active learning using digital platforms/Google classroom and assistive technology.
- To set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence.
- To provide feedback to learners in relation to incremental progress and achievement under the guidance of the teacher/tutor.
- To establish clear communication and professional relationships with the teacher/tutor.
- To use strategies, in liaison with the teacher/tutor, to support young people to achieve learning goals.
- To assist with the planning and preparation of learning activities.
- To undertake structured and agreed learning activities and teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to learner responses.
- To prepare, maintain and use equipment and resources required to meet the lesson plans and relevant learning activity and assist young people in their use.
Role Requirements:
- Experience of working with children and young people
- Appropriate Level 3 supporting teaching and learning qualification
- Literacy and Numeracy at Level 2 or above
- Able to support teaching delivery to learners of all levels and abilities and to use flexible and innovative methods of delivery as required
- The capacity to use ICT, digital platforms/Google Classroom and assistive technology to improve the quality of teaching provision
- Ability to work in a range of curriculum areas and travel to multiple campuses
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people receiving education and training
