Role Summary
A great opportunity has arisen to join a globally diverse business operating across multiple locations around the world on an interim contract.
Working as part of a small group finance function and reporting into the Head of Controlling this role will be responsible for the consolidation and reporting of a diverse group. of ingredient businesses operating across the globe.
This role would suit candidates with a strong background in financial and statutory accounting and ideally experience working with multiple entities or international entities.
Responsibilities
- Consolidation and preparation of group results on a periodic, forecasted, and budgeted basis
- Ensuring compliance to group policies and procedures
- Responsibility for month end close and review of Head Office operations. Ensuring all general ledger entries are accurately recorded and with appropriate reconciliations.
- Supporting Head Office purchase ledger processes, including new supplier set-up and payment run approvals.
- Play a key role in the improvement of internal controls and bringing efficiency and process improvement into Head Office finance functions including supporting the design and documentation of processes required for a new ERP implementation.
- Management of Head Office treasury functions including FX deals and banking
- Provide backup resource to ensure appropriate recharges & settlements for group companies and the intercompany recharging to statutory entities continue during periods of team absence
- Preparation of statutory accounts for both UK and French entities
- Primary responsibility for delivery of external audit information requirements.
- Management of Head Office tax compliance, including VAT (UK and France) reporting and PSA and P11d.
- Provide technical advice and accounting support to the businesses as required including Lease Accounting.
- Coaching, developing & supervising an accounting apprentice.
- Weekly cash flow forecasting
- Supporting extraction of data to enable management reporting packs to be prepared by Head of FP&A (note: no involvement in writing commentaries anticipated)
Person specification
- Relevant education e.g. Qualified accountant
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS)
- Experience with group accounts and consolidation
- Experience in a large, multi-currency, international group
- Strong computer literacy skills, particularly Excel
