The Role
PDM / PLM CAD Manager (Solidworks, Teamcentre, AutoCad, Siemens NX),
Evaluate new 3D CAD hardware/software and recommend investments in new technologies.
Teamcenter integration for SOLIDWORKS
Manage data with Teamcenter & improve efficiency while enabling users to focus on product development. Find, share and re-use mechanical CAD (MCAD) data in a fully integrated, multi-domain PLM environment.
Connect mechanical designs with electrical, electronic, software and simulation data. Manage, find, share and re-use data across design centers from a single secure source.
Manage CAD standards and styles, hardware and software evaluation and maintenance, data maintenance and integrity, CAD procedures, and supplemental application design.
Advise management on program implementation, equipment needs, and evolving technological and support strategies.
Organize the update and maintenance of electronic libraries of drawings, details, standard plans, and CAD styles. Develop procedures, routines, and programming scripts for drawing templates; produce drawings for other departments upon request.
CAD Admin: system modifications, system enhancements, and system replacements. Maintain server/database, process automation.
Database query, macros, reporting & business improvement processes.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
- PLM Design Engineering experience using Teamcentre, SolidWorks &/ Siemens NX
- PDM / PLM - any of Windchill, Team Centre, Smart Team, DDM (Design Data Manager)
- 3D CAD Manager & CAD Admin eg Upgrade/ service pack installation and implementation, Managing licenses, renewals, users & permissions, release of new versions/upgrade
- Engineering / Mechanical qualification
Advantage:
- SOLIDWORKS with Teamcenter (SWIM).
- AutoCAD, Inventor, NX
- Query Database (SQL Database expertise /VBA & related code expertise advantage)
- Upgrade/maintain server, Add new server tools, Back up engineering data
- BEng / Engineering - ideally Mechanical or Design or Naval or Marine
- Experience of Aerospace, Marine, Naval or Offshore engineering
- Design for Manufacturing / Fabrication/ Industrial Engineering
Contract Role: Please note that this Role is office based & inside IR35
