Isio is recruiting for a junior or entry level position within our Operational Excellence in Pensions Team where we are at the forefront of enabling schemes to deliver the best outcomes for members.

Working with some of the largest and most complex schemes in the country, we support schemes to deliver their strategic goals by undertaking reviews of pension scheme data, benefit calculations, and processes and controls.

We are focussed on delivering solutions and positive outcomes to our clients and their members.

As part of this role you'll be working in Isio's Actuarial & Consulting team - over 400 pensions consultants and actuaries advising a diverse range of clients and stakeholders across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.

We advise on everything from helping trustees and sponsors to manage their defined benefit plans, running large scale communications projects and implementing alternative reward and pension provision. The range of work we get involved with is vast and there'll be opportunities for you to gain lots of great, new experiences and put your skills to the test.

Day to day you will be:

  • Supporting in the delivery of advice to clients - this may include supporting key client projects, and/or supporting our partners and directors to deliver to our clients.
  • As well as being involved in the technical aspects of projects, this will also involve working as part of a team and supporting those around you.
  • Assisting managers with the development of new business, both with existing and new clients.
  • As part of your role, there will be a wide range of opportunities to get involved in a lot of different areas of pensions consulting and have access to a wide range of clients.

Key skills and experience

This is a junior/entry level position for someone with an interest in working in the pensions industry, in a project based and varied consulting role.

As a challenger in the industry, we are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills and a natural aptitude for a consulting career, alongside a commercial outlook and an entrepreneurial mindset.

  • We are open to those who have already embarked on a career within pensions and therefore have some industry knowledge, but this is not essential as full training will be provided.
  • A great communicator - someone who has the ability to explain complex problems in a simple way to help everyone around the table understand.
  • Enthusiasm and motivation - a great deal of desire of solving problems and providing a great service to our clients.
  • Previous experience in project management would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Competent in the use of IT including word and excel
  • A great team worker - evidence of working in a team, but also happy to work independently.

Where is the role?

We can offer a range of locations for you to choose from - we have Isio offices in Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Croydon, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester and Reading.

We work on a hybrid basis, offering the opportunity for colleagues to split their working time between working in the office and at home. You may be required to travel to a client site occasionally.
