Teaching Assistant Grade 2

Springwell Learning Community is the umbrella name for Springwell Special Academy and Springwell Alternative Academy. Springwell Alternative Academy works in partnership with local primary and secondary schools to provide alternative education pathways/ day 6 provision. As a Grade 2 Teaching Assistant (TA2) at our school in Barnsley, you will offer more than classroom support. You will make connections, develop relationships and lead our pupils on the path to a bright future. This will include working under the guidance of a teacher to support the academic and personal development of children throughout the school day. This includes:

  • Getting the classroom ready for lessons
  • Supporting children in class with reading, visual learning and messy play
  • Helping those who need extra support
  • Completing pupils record plans

THE CANDIDATE

  • Ideally GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • Experience or interest in working with children/ young people with SEN / SEMH needs
  • Ability to relate to children and younger people to build positive relationships

SALARY/ HOURS
Salary for a grade 2 Teaching Assistant is £17,598 - £17,890 actual annual salary working 33 hours per week Mon-Fri term time only + 5 inset days + amazing benefits working for our Wellspring trust(which you can find on our website)
