Purchasing Manager

Successful MRO and manufacturing services business require a Purchasing Manager. Applicants require strategic procurement skills, supply chain management expertise and commercial acumen. The ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Reporting into Operations, the Purchasing Manager will be responsible for leading all procurement activity, strategic and operational. The Purchasing Manager will also lead a small team and collaborate closely with colleagues in Sales to drive overall commercial success and achievement of business opportunities.

Specific duties of the Purchasing Manager include:

  • Ensure continuity of supply of materials and services to the factory
  • Achievement of company cost reduction and savings targets
  • Negotiation and management of contractual agreements with suppliers
  • Supplier selection, de-selection and management activities
  • Optimise inventory levels
  • Develop, manage and motivate team
  • Collaborate with Sales in regards to commercial opportunities
  • Ensure compliant import/export procedures
  • Drive continuous and process improvement across the function

Purchasing Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Strategic level, procurement or purchasing experience
  • Experience as; Senior Buyer, Strategic Buyer, Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, Supply Chain Manager
  • The ability to thrive in a customer-centric procurement environment, with dynamic forecasts
  • Ability to manage and lead a team
  • Understanding of LEAN techniques/methodologies in regards to inventory management
  • An eye for process improvement
