We are excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated Senior Social Worker/Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our Community Mental Health teams. Day to Day of the role:

  • Work in partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust as a seconded team member within a multi-disciplinary Community Mental Health Team (CMHT).
  • Undertake delegated duties under the Care Act 2014, and if an AMHP, the Mental Health Act 1983 (2007) and other relevant legislation.
  • Assess the needs of adults with acute, complex, or enduring mental health problems and the needs of their carers.
  • Formulate and implement care plans using a strength-based approach.
  • Monitor, review, and evaluate services to ensure they meet the identified needs effectively.
  • Provide professional advice and expertise to less experienced staff and manage complex casework.
  • Coordinate and chair case conferences and planning meetings, including safeguarding meetings.
  • Respond to new and changed legislation and contribute to the control of team budgets.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Dip SW, CQSW, or degree in Social Work.
  • Qualified AMHP and Practice Educator.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Evidence of completing an Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) or willingness to undertake ASYE.
  • Experience in adult mental health services and knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
