The Role

As a Part Qualified Practice Accountant, you will be a key player in delivering exceptional accounting services to a diverse portfolio of clients. You will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of VAT returns and management accounts: Ensure accuracy and compliance in VAT submissions and contribute to the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and corporation tax computations: Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and corporation tax returns.
  • Bookkeeping: Utilize QuickBooks Online, Sage, Xero, and FreeAgent for accurate and efficient bookkeeping.
  • Keeping up to date with technical accounting and VAT issues: Stay informed about the latest developments in accounting standards and VAT regulations to best serve clients.
  • Team participation: Actively engage in team meetings and collaborative projects to drive the business forward.
  • Financial record maintenance: Help maintain and update financial records ensuring they are organized and up-to-date.
  • Support with ad-hoc projects: Assist the accounts team with various ad-hoc tasks and special projects as required.

About You

To thrive in this role, you should be:

  • Experienced in accountancy practice: Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is essential.
  • Currently studying towards an accounting qualification: You should be on your way to achieving an AAT or ACCA qualification.
  • Proficient in accounting software: Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, Sage, Xero, and FreeAgent, along with a solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Detail-oriented: You possess excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Organized and efficient: Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines effectively.
  • A team player: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • An effective communicator: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact confidently with clients and team members.
