UPS Engineer

Major Recruitment are delighted to partner with a leading name in Energy Solutions for the recruitment of a UPS Engineer on a Permanent Basis. As a UPS Engineer, you will be required to work both onshore and offshore as determined by the company. This post will involve the supervision of trainee engineers.

Salary: Circa £55,000 upon completion of probation period

Location: Aberdeen

Duties according to experience will include:

Offshore

  • Conductance / Internal Resistance / Discharge testing of battery systems
  • Routine maintenance of UPS systems including aged/obsolete equipment
  • UPS installation & Commissioning
  • UPS Fault call / Breakdown response
  • Compilation of reports
  • Providing recommendations on asset replacement / additional preventative maintenance required

Onshore

  • Commissioning and maintenance of industrial battery and UPS systems
  • UPS installation & Commissioning
  • UPS Fault call / Breakdown response
  • Compilation of reports
  • Providing recommendations on asset replacement / additional preventative maintenance required

The position is anticipated to involve a significant amount of travel including overnight stopovers

Skills & Qualifications for the UPS Engineer position:

Required:

  • Qualified to HNC level or equivalent or qualified as an approved electrician.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Good team player
  • Diligent and conscientious attitude

Desirable:

  • Offshore experience
  • UPS Product training
  • Familiarity with the BS7671 IEE Wiring Regulations

All employees are expected to:-

  • Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner and comply with Company and Client, Quality, Safety and Environmental management systems and procedures at all times.
  • Obtain and use the correct tools/equipment for the work and not use any that are unsafe or damaged. All tools, equipment and personal protective equipment must be stored in the correct place after use.
  • Ensure that all safety equipment and personal protective clothing/equipment provided and are used at all times.
  • Ensure that all accidents, incidents, near misses and hazards are immediately reported and relevant paperwork is completed.
