Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrically Bias)

£30,000 - £35,000 Per Annum + OT (1.5x)

We are looking for a motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join a market leading company. Reporting directly to the Manager you will be a key member in ensuring customer products are kept running. You will be involved in all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance within their operation. With progressive training and development this company is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming team of engineers. Role Description

Main Purpose of Job:

To support the achievement of Manufacturing KPIs for Clients Company by providing line support, delivering the asset care plan, and assisting with site improvement activities, ensuring safety, quality, and output targets are met.

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

  1. Support Manufacturing KPIs:
  • Achieve targets for Overall Equipment Effectiveness, conformance to plans, changeovers, and line efficiency.
  1. Engineering Team Support:
  • Complete Asset Care Plan activities on time and to a high standard.

  • Record and resolve engineering issues promptly using the AIR system.

  • Ensure mean time between failure is met.

  • Act with urgency and responsibility to achieve goals.

  • Continuously develop skills and share knowledge.

  • React effectively to business performance issues and suggest improvements.

  1. Improvement Projects:
  • Lead or participate in process improvement initiatives.

  • Execute tasks from improvement groups.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

  • Participate in Non-Conformance investigations and implement solutions.

  1. Health and Safety:
  • Report and close out near misses.

  • Assist in generating and complying with risk assessments.

  1. GMP Audit Compliance:
  • Maintain workshop and work areas in compliance with standards.

  • Adhere to PPE requirements as per Code of Practice.

Key Success Criteria:

  1. Essential: Time-served Engineer.
  2. Essential: Full UK Driving Licence.
  3. Preferred: Electrically biased with mechanical experience.
  4. Preferred: 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge:

  1. Detailed engineering knowledge of equipment used in services, bottle blowing, filling, packing, and palletization.
  2. Understanding of continuous improvement tools.
  3. Proficient in problem-solving techniques.
  4. Familiarity with best practice Asset Care principles.

Skills:

  1. Computer literate (e-mail, Word, Excel).
  2. Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  3. Proficient in fault finding and corrective action implementation.
  4. Understanding of the engineering role in achieving manufacturing KPIs.
  5. Takes ownership and responsibility for achieving objectives.
  6. Builds relationships based on openness, integrity, and respect.
  7. Motivated, improvement-driven, with a positive attitude.
  8. Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
