An exciting opportunity for an experienced individual with previous exposure in Private Wealth has arisen in a City Law Firm.
They are looking for a competent self-starter to assist the Team Lead for Tax, Compliance and Disclosure and the wider Private Wealth team to deliver advice and guidance to clients. The role will involve a high level of organisation and administration, together with client work to ensure work is completed in a timely and efficient manner and high levels of client service delivery are achieved.
The team works with a broad range of clients (including trustees, administrators, banks, and beneficiaries) in relation to a range of Private Wealth related legal matters. As the role develops, there is a possibility of managing own caseload under supervision. There is also the requirement to support the wider Private Wealth team as and when needed.
The person will be involved in a busy team and will have responsibilities and duties which will include but will not be limited to:
Responsibilities
- Working with our Private Wealth team to assist with tasks such as trust accounts, rental accounts, and estate accounts;
- To take a proactive approach in building professional relationships with clients and other contacts including HMRC;
- Supporting the Team Lead for Tax, Compliance and Disclosure with completing annual accounts, tax returns and providing beneficiaries and their accountants with necessary information;.
- Entering accounting information into spreadsheets, reconciling accounts, and keeping detailed records of transactions to a high standard
- Maintaining trust records in an orderly fashion and meeting necessary deadlines;
- Assisting with the onboarding of new matters;
- Carrying out legal research;.
- Arranging meetings, managing email inboxes and diary management where appropriate;
- Preparing legal documentation we well as document management, review and analysis
- Handling confidential client or case information.
- Providing effective and proactive communication with clients, legal staff and other support staff;
Experience, skills and qualifications
- Previous experience of working in a legal or professional services;
- Previous experience working as a Paralegal (or in a similar role) is desirable;
- Strong research skills
- Numeracy is essential;
- Technically competent in Microsoft Office applications and Outlook;
- Proficiency in using legal database software;
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment;.
- Excellent organisation skills; and
- Meticulous attention to detail.
The role will offer a salary up to c£42000 for the right candidate working in a top Law Firm with excellent exposure to public and privately owned business and wealthy individuals.
